New organization of the finance department of the Zollikon municipality with HPO
"For the contract award it was decisive that HPO assumed interim control of the finance department and guaranteed annual accounts in due time. Annual accounts were finished without difficulties and faster than in previous years. We required someone who saw the process as a whole and consequently we reached our goal much faster. It was the first aim to describe the current situation and to show possible optimizations. By integrating the administrative officers transparency could be created within a short period of time. In addition, the necessary readiness for a change among the administrative staff was reached, among others by a systematic communication and information about steps of the project.
The new processes were also supported by the introduction of new software modules. HPO supported the municipality in particular in the specification of software requirements, in the implementation and the training of those involved. Thanks to the support of HPO we could focus our resources completely on the construction of a controlling system and on the introduction of a cost and activity accounting. In the future we want to derive the bases for upcoming decisions and the management of the municipality from the data. These new instruments are the basis for an improved control of the implementation of political requirements as well as the basis for fiscal decisions. - Measures to improve results by around mEUR 1.8 have been initiated, loss in liquidity has been stopped
