Public & Non-profit
Private sector measurement criteria - criteria for decision making motivated by political deliberations and by public utility
Organisations in the public sector or non-profit organisations increasingly are being assessed according to criteria adapted from private sector and free market system. However, at the same time political parameters or parameters of public utility play a superordinate role in decision making and funding. In addition to that, by providing services at lower cost or offering them in a more cost-effective way, the public sector strives for a competitive position to the private sector.
Optimising leadership ability, boosting efficiency, gaining freedom of action
Well-managed public administrations alongside NGOs have to continuously review their strategies and operations, identify and leverage potential for competitive advantage.
The more complex and politically motivated the decision making, the more complexity has to be reduced on the operations level by simplification of processes and minimisation of interfaces. Not only efficiency of the organisation is increased, but also necessary freedom of movement for the provision of additional services is assured.
Additionally, with a smart project layout innovative ability of the organisation is strengthened in a sustainable way– a further advantage in the struggle for allocation of funds and competitiveness in comparison to private suppliers.
